Agrifirm publishes revised deforestation-free soy procurement protocol

In order to stimulate the transition to guaranteed deforestation- and conversion-free soy for animal feed, Agrifirm shares its revised procurement protocol. The protocol is updated based on the valuable input of stakeholders and Agrifirm’s initial experiences with sourcing physical deforestation and conversion-free soy. The revised procurement protocol is more consistent with actual practices and supports buyers in situations where ambiguity might exist about risks and definitions. The requirements of the European deforestation law are also incorporated as well as the latest insights on conversion risks in key soy sourcing regions. It is the ambition of Agrifirm to stimulate the demand of physical segregated deforestation and conversion-free soy. The updated deforestation-free soy protocol provides supply chain partners with a practical guidance to do so.
